Lucker Mill House B&B is just a very short drive away from that magnificent view.
Northumberland has it all!
Do you like to walk in the hills? Do you ache for a quiet stroll on a beach on a balmy summer evening? Are you interested in wildlife? Do you like shopping? Are you a history buff? Northumberland has it all!
Farne Islands
A "must do" whilst in Northumberland between April and June is to take a boat trip around the Farne Islands if you are remotely interested in wildlife. See the many bird species that visit the islands during breeding season including the ever popular Puffins! Also Fulmars, Shags, Guillemots and Razorbills, along with the seal colony - November is a great time for a trip to see the seal pups. Trips are run throughout the year when conditions allow, but breeding season is the highlight.
Castles Galore!
You might have heard that Northumberland a has a few castles...
Remnants of the Border wars with Scotland, Northumberland was well fortified. This buildings are now either romantic ruins or stately homes. Just a few to list are the close by Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and its popular Alnwick Garden alongside, Lindisfarne Castle - but don't get caught by the tide! The ruins of Warkworth Castle (above) and Dunstanburgh Castle at the end of a beautiful coastal walk from the village of Craster. Further afield and away from the coast, the quirky Chillingham Castle, famous for its ghosts, by the border - Norham Castle and even a castle with hardly any trace left, Harbottle Castle.
